Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan (Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García de Estefan) is a Cuban-born American singer, songwriter, actress and entrepreneur. She was born in Havana, Cuba and as a toddler Estefan fled Cuba with her family.

In 1975 Gloria met keyboardist Emilio Estefan, who led a band called the Miami Latin Boys playing popular Latin music.  Gloria joined as lead singer with the band, renamed the Miami Sound Machine.

Gloria Estefan has been called the greatest Latin crossover artist of all time by Billboard magazine and is a seven-time Grammy winner -- but her success didn't come without a fight. She struggled trying to cross over from her Cuban roots into American pop. She Is In Billboard Magazine's Top 100 Best Selling Musical Artists And Is The Most Successful Crossover Performer To Date With An Estimated 100 Million Records Sold Worldwide.
