Hearing Aids Client

Sometimes we have the opportunity to help our clients in ways that are beyond our mission or scope of services. This truly is a wonderful thing!

So, here’s the story…
Sandy, a long-time supporter of The Centre called to say that her Mother, Milly, had recently died.  Before her passing, Milly had been fitted for a very high-tech hearing aid and wondered if The Centre might have a client who could possibly use it.

Tammy Criollo, who was the Director of our Community-Based Enterprises at the time, knew just the perfect person: Claire, an 84-year-old client in our Senior Home Improvement Program (SHIP). SHIP has performed some repairs on her home, but she also suffered from nearly complete hearing loss.  Sandy donated her Mother’s hearing aid, Audibel agreed to program it for Claire and the deal was done.

Tammy said, “Claire is eternally grateful and thankful for her new hearing aid. It brought her back into the world.  She has prayed to Sandy's Mom with heartfelt thanks. Sandy's donation gave Claire back her life.” A few weeks later, Sandy received a Thank-You note from Claire.  Sandy said, “It made me smile. I read it to Mom and I know she was happy it went to someone deserving.”
