The Helen Gordon Davis Centre for Women, headquartered at 305 Hyde Park Ave., will now offer services at the Hillsborough County Community College (HCC) Campus in Brandon, thanks to a new collaboration designed to provide convenience for students and community members.

Ann W. Madsen, Executive Director of The Centre for Women, said:  “The Centre for Women is excited offer our unique services to help women succeed both personally and professionally.  We have found an excellent partner with Dr. Nancee Sorenson, President of the Brandon Campus.”

“Thanks to Dr. Sorenson, The Centre will have an on-campus office, The Centre for Women Counseling Office to provide behavioral health counseling and employment services to help people to prepare for and find employment.

The Centre’s Women’s Business Centre, which is funded by a grant from the Office of Women’s Business Ownership, also plans to provide workshops and training for aspiring and nascent entrepreneurs.  The Women’s Business Centre is the only SBA-designated Women’s Business Center on the West Coast of Florida and serves a six-county area.”

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 12th at the campus which is located on an 82-acre site off Falkenburg Road, between SR 60 and Hwy 574. The Brandon Campus serves the central portion of Hillsborough County and the developing corporate-industrial corridor along Interstates 75 and 4.


Local dignitaries joined the staff of the college and The Centre for Women to launch this innovative partnership which will increase access to important services.
