logo-centre-4-girls-btnThe Centre for Girls helps girls between the ages of 10 and 18 transition from childhood and adolescence into healthy young adulthood. This innovative program provides girls with a safe place to learn and grow when school is not in session.

With programming based on the model of Positive Youth Development, The Centre for Girls offers educational activities that are fun while supporting the learning of critical life skills and promoting physical, social and emotional health. These include:

  • Psycho-Educational Groups
  • Community Service Projects
  • Instruction in Basic Health
    • Body Education
    • Personal Safety
    • Nutrition
    • Yoga, Dancing & Leading a Healthy Lifestyle
  • Personal Skills Training
    • Computer Lab

  • Conflict Resolution Relationship & Cultural Education
  • Tutoring & Homework Help to Promote Academics

2011 Marked the 10th Anniversary for The Centre for Girls!

Honorary Chair, Hillsborough County Commissioner, Sandy Murman hosted an open house to help us celebrate 10 years of enriching the lives of girls in our community!

On May 4, 2011, Commissioner Murman hosted an outdoor reception held at The Centre for Girls.  Along with Executive Director Beth Ficuquette and Board President Victor Veschio, Ms. Murman, spoke about the history of The Centre for Girls and it's place in the community.
